The RETI-port consists of the pattern stimulator unit and computer analyzer system. The bio signal amplifier includes a preamplifier near the patient. All patient data and the results are stored in the data base. The bio signal and averaged curves from all channels can be displayed on the monitor. In analysis mode, the system sets all markers and computes all parameters automatically.

The basic equipment already includes - in compliance with ISCEV Standard - simple and rapid determination of PVEP and PERG. The software provides automatic computation of the latencies and amplitudes.

IThe EOG program provides visualization of saccades and online analysis of amplitudes for right and left eye.

Fast Fourier transformation, OFF-line averaging, pre-trigger function are among the advanced features of the system.

Utilizing the unique short corrected m-sequence (patent registered) to generate a stimulus via a high class specially selected 21" custom monitor (60 Hz frame time ) on a 30 degree visual field, the state of the art RETI-port gamma plus offers an objective test of the patient's eyes to quantify the retinal response.

The stimulated areas respond in accordance with the special algorithm and deliver an individually reproducible ERGsignal for each segment (1 segment is 1 hexagon). Each cycle comprises a complete short length m-sequence and takes as little as 30 seconds for up to 61 stimulus segments and less than one minute for 103 segments. The final raw data result is derived from a freely selectable number of cycles by averaging. The artefact is detected within a selectable range and discarded automatically. A present-test run sequence may be interrupted for any reason, continued or the current cycle discarded. Additionally the RETI-port gamma plus offers the opportunity of linking to different Rodenstock scanning laser ophthalmoscopes (SLO), red stimulus or Heidelberg Retina Angiograph (HRA), blue and green stimulus, to simultaneously give a topographic and functional (electrophysiological) resultfor the visually controlled retinal area. Markers for a- and b-wave from the ERG graph are set automatically but may be set manually for each ERG to check the recorded amplitude and latency. The RETI-port gamma plus incorporates a highly sensitive four-channel amplifier with an outstanding signal-to-noise ratio. The instrument is useful for monitoring the disease process of the local retina and cortex. It is now also able to measure the visual cortex.
